Spring updates

Hi my dears!
Long time no hear from me. I have a reason for it. I made master class with Alla Visir. It was beautiful to work with this famous Master. I got many pleasant impressions and knowledge. The result of this masterclass is my brooch.

Here is a back side of the brooch. It was really great experience. When I start learning to tat I was going to make some details for my quilts. Now I realize that it's getting serious for me. I'm happy when I tat. When I found Alla Visir and her tatted things I was so impressed and decided to ask her to teach me. She has several masterclasses and brooch is most attractive by volume of the getting knowledge. It took about month to complete this studying. I like the way she taught me. The class consist of 10 parts. All the parts are described with photos and patterns moreover you have an opportunity to ask about the process any time via email. When you complete a part she give  a comment and if everything is right you get the next part. So it's a great common work.

The photo bellow is my parallel process. It is in the middle now.

And of course I can not live without something new. I make a small turtle. Here is its shell, other parts are in the process.
Thank you for your visit. See you soon. Enjoy your crafts!

Tatted collar

Hi my dears!
Let me show you a new tatted collar. I used Toho and Mill Hill seeds, threads Milford 40 to make it. I love the results because when I started to make it I was going to get something in boho style. And my thoughts came true.

I took the pattern on the Internet. It is from Russian magazine.

I slightly changed the pattern included 3 seeds in each petal, 1 seed in the middle  of the flowers and 1 seed between them.
Thank you for your visit. See you soon.

Pinks

Hi my dears!
It's winter here now but in my Motherland the summer is running. The weather this morning was -1C. And in spite of the weather conditions it's time for me to make something light and weightless because my mother-in-law has a birthday in August. So it must be surprise for her. This collar and cuffs for her dress. I used gold seeds and DMS pink threads perle 12 to make them.

The pattern for collar is from  a Russian book, the pattern for cuffs I made on my own using the pattern of the collar.
 Hope she likes them.
Thank you for your visit. See you soon.

An organizer for my knitting tools

Hi my dears!
The days aren't sunny this time and I have no opportunity to make good photos. But my wish to show you my new knitting organizer is stronger than the weather conditions. So here it is
This thing is from two separate sides which connects with the hook&loop tape. It's very convenient because it's possible to leave unneeded one.

You can put into many things you need because this type of locks allows this organizer to get wider.
Hope you like it. Enjoy your day. See you soon.

Winter updates

Hi my dears!
I was so busy last two weeks. I was in a hurry to complete my hubby's sweater. And I made it, I did last stitches yesterday and wanted to make photos on the model ( my DH), but he wasn't in a mood for it. So I made a few photos without him and here they are:

The color of photos aren't true because of light. The real ones were in the previous post. Hope my dear model will be in a mood this weekend and I can show you this sweater.

When I was in my class I found the fabric which fits for the yarn I bought for my new cardigan. And of cause I took this without any hesitation. It's lovely one, isn't it?

This is my new snood. It's from the liberty fabric, I love the print so much. I made it like endless scarf, it took 15 min and half a meter of fabric to make this.
And in the end of the post I want to show you my the oxidized sterling silver and umber set which I got for Mother day. It's looks slightly strange but it fits a lot for my formal style. Love this set, thank you my DH.
Thank you for your visit. Enjoy your crafts.See you soon.

Almost ready....

Hi my dears!
When the world waits for  summer I still prepare my family for winter. It's coming so soon. Nights and mornings are already cold.  I've  taken our warm clothes and  suppose that a pair of new knits wouldn't go amiss.

...this is the process of making my hubby's sweater. The pattern of cables I took from The Knitter magazine. The yarn is 100% Peruvian Highland wool I got from Knitpicks last week.

Have you ever made a tweed fabric? I've made. The photo bellow shows what I got. I took the thin wool with the needles s3 and knitted using a herringbone stitch. The thing I made I'll show later. Let it be a secret yet.
... and I'm still in process of making my daughter's quilt, I need to make a few patches to complete it, Hope it happens soon.
and my lovely process is the lace. It's my favorite one. It's not so fast because it's not so urgent.
Thank you for your visit. Enjoy your crafts. See you soon.

Tatted collar

Hi dear readers!

Let me show you today a new collar. It's not the time to make the similar things because  winter is coming but I decided to complete all the current processes and only after that  start new ones. This collar was the first completed because it does not need to sit all the time on the firm chair ( I've got a flue last Wednesday). So next in the line is the quilt and a box for tatting stuffs.

about this collar.... This pattern is from the Pascale Provost book. It took a week to make it. The pattern is very easy. If you are interested in this pattern I can sent you just let me know.
Thank you for your visit. Enjoy your day. See you soon.

Processes

Hi dear readers!
Today I want to show you my current processes and  other interesting things. I'm still making my daughter's quilt, because other interesting things put me off it. The photos bellow are the butterfly patches variations and embroidered "friends" patch.

This is one of four similar patches. I bought the fabric for stripes but the print seems me interesting but so boring and I decided to make an embroidery using a print like a pattern. One is ready.
Three others are in a line ;-)

.... making a collar
...and this is Lithuanian flax (linen threads), I bought it on Etsy. It's a 1 pty thread. I'm going to use them for hand quilting because the thread is very firm (don't need to wax). I suppose that  it's even suitable for heavy duty sewing.
I got an interesting Japanese book how to make  hats. All the instructions are in Japanese, but patters, schemes and photos are very friendly.
Thank you for your visit. See you soon.

Groovy or unusual shawl

Hi dear readers!
Look what I made. It's a groovy shawl. I found a  free pattern on the Russian Internet and slightly changed it. So the shawl got longer and I changed one of the ends of this one, it got wider.

I'm not sure that Russian pattern is for free so I give a description for  my shawl. Sorry for my language, I don't know special terms for knitting. If you have any questions just let me know I'll be happy to explain.
So lets start.
I took:

I suppose that thinner threads could be better for this shawl. But I had the same threads because my daughter started learning how to knit and couldn't complete  her scarf, in her opinion, it's boring.

This shawl is knitted in 3 directions so it has three different parts . On the photo bellow I didn't remove markers from the ready shawl and marked two points out where shawl changes the directions.

Set up: I  cast on 3 knits.
Each 6 Row : add 1 stitch, all additional stitches must be on the internal side of the shawl (or in the end of each 6 row, mark the needed side), follow  the next 40 waves

After the 1st part you need to change a direction of the knitting,  so in each 2nd row on the internal side you need to add 1 stitch and simultaneously close 1 stitch in each 6th row. Make next 19 waves (1 wave = 6 rows).
When you make the last wave of the second part you need to change a direction again. Knit 1 stitch in each row for the internal side of the shawl, and close 4 stitches in the beginning of the each 6th row. Follow next 20 waves. For the last wave you don't need to add 1 stitch in each row just close 4 stitch in 6th row.

Enjoy your craft. See you soon
