A few patches for my daughter's quilt

Hello dear readers!
I'm still in the process of making my daughters quilt. Here is log-cabin leaf for a flower. I've made log cabin patches once in my life and my first experience was terrible because I didn't use any base to make them. Later on YouTube I found the great explanation how easy to make them on vellum.

For these patches I used tracing paper for the base instead of vellum ( I couldn't find it)  and I got the expected result.
... these patches are in the paper yet
this cake is for my little sweet tooth :-)
... the ironed patch from previous post
this crochet detail fits for a linen patch. It was made by my Grandmother and will remind my daughter about her.
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your craft. See you soon.

New quilt (2nd and 3rd blocks)

Hello dear readers!
I'm in process with my new quilt. I've already defined colors and make a few pictures of the further quilt.  I decided to collect many different crafts making this quilt. I'll have a few parts with embroidery and applique, the rest ones will be hand scraped and quilted.

The second patch is umbrella I made it because of rainy climate in the city where we came from.
The colors of the quilt you can show here, this patch was made by hand and wasn't competed because I haven't bought the main fabric yet. It's too humid outside last three days so I don't want driving to the shop. Hope to get there tomorrow.
Thank you for your visit. Enjoy your day. See you soon.

New quilt (1st block)

Hello dear readers!
Recently I made an announce about my new learning process (whitework embroidery). Today I want to show you some results of it. Together with this learning process I started another one to apply my embroidered stuff. This process is a blanket for my daughter's bedroom.  The photos bellow are for the first block.
This is the blog with clover leaf with small and cute lady bug. This picture shows the embroidery more detailed. When I started this embroidery I used only books but some moments were not clear and I started searching on the Internet any blogs about white work and pulled thread embroidery. I found 2 beautiful blogs one of them in Germany and another one in Italia. First blog is about Schwalm Whitework,  another one is about Italian needle-making lace. Both of them are very interesting.

Thanks for your visit.Enjoy your day. See you soon.

A new table runner

Hello dear readers!
I've completed to make a new bouquet for our living room. I like these Australian plants and it looks better with a table runner. It takes two days to make a design and to sew  this table runner. I used a burlap fabric  and light color cotton for this one and decorated and quilted it with red and green threads. I took these colors for decoration because of birds which were gifted by my mother in law. For the quilted element I chose 4" clamshells pattern, I made it with English paper piecing way.  The way to connect clamshells I found in this blog, the photos were from Tokyo International Quilting show.

The other decorative elements were made with the drawn-work way.

Thank you for your visit. Comments ate welcome. Enjoy your day.  See you soon.

Waiting for a winter

Hello dear readers!
Today I want to show you my winter preparation. When we are meeting an Autumn  here the rest world prepares to meet a spring. There is a Russian  proverb: "Repair your cart in December, in July your sledge remember". For Australia this proverb could be implemented vice versa. So I decided to make knitted socks for all the my family members because winter comes suddenly as usual. The first pair  is for my hubby.

These socks are from merinos wool. The must be pretty warm. The pattern is for 5 needles, this way was shown me by my Grandmother and I often use it.

Thank you for your visit. Enjoy your day. See you soon.
