Processes

Hi dear readers!
Today I want to show you my current processes and  other interesting things. I'm still making my daughter's quilt, because other interesting things put me off it. The photos bellow are the butterfly patches variations and embroidered "friends" patch.

This is one of four similar patches. I bought the fabric for stripes but the print seems me interesting but so boring and I decided to make an embroidery using a print like a pattern. One is ready.
Three others are in a line ;-)

.... making a collar
...and this is Lithuanian flax (linen threads), I bought it on Etsy. It's a 1 pty thread. I'm going to use them for hand quilting because the thread is very firm (don't need to wax). I suppose that  it's even suitable for heavy duty sewing.
I got an interesting Japanese book how to make  hats. All the instructions are in Japanese, but patters, schemes and photos are very friendly.
Thank you for your visit. See you soon.

New quilt (2nd and 3rd blocks)

Hello dear readers!
I'm in process with my new quilt. I've already defined colors and make a few pictures of the further quilt.  I decided to collect many different crafts making this quilt. I'll have a few parts with embroidery and applique, the rest ones will be hand scraped and quilted.

The second patch is umbrella I made it because of rainy climate in the city where we came from.
The colors of the quilt you can show here, this patch was made by hand and wasn't competed because I haven't bought the main fabric yet. It's too humid outside last three days so I don't want driving to the shop. Hope to get there tomorrow.
Thank you for your visit. Enjoy your day. See you soon.

A new table runner

Hello dear readers!
I've completed to make a new bouquet for our living room. I like these Australian plants and it looks better with a table runner. It takes two days to make a design and to sew  this table runner. I used a burlap fabric  and light color cotton for this one and decorated and quilted it with red and green threads. I took these colors for decoration because of birds which were gifted by my mother in law. For the quilted element I chose 4" clamshells pattern, I made it with English paper piecing way.  The way to connect clamshells I found in this blog, the photos were from Tokyo International Quilting show.

The other decorative elements were made with the drawn-work way.

Thank you for your visit. Comments ate welcome. Enjoy your day.  See you soon.

Foxes' pillowcases and new tatting project

Hello dear readers!
These New Year holidays were very busy. My mother in law were with us here and we were traveling a lot and I didn't have enough time to sew. In spite of this hot time I could complete my  pillowcases, so here they are

I love them a lot because I like the orange color. The foxes' personage for these pillowcases came to my mind when I saw my friends' dog, I love this dog so much and she looks and behaves like a fox.
When we were in the eastern part of Sydney I found an interesting fabric shop, prices there were reasonable and I bought fabric for tunic and dress for my daughter. As decorative element for the tunic I decided to make tatted lace. So I've started the process and made one element.
The pattern for this element I took here. This blog belongs to a very talented  woman. Thanks her a lot for this pattern. I couldn't say that it's very easy pattern, it's necessary to know how to make a cluny leaf. I specially took a lesson for it last week. So it's not difficult when someone explain. I've got a good explanation, many thanks Lyall, my teacher.

Thank you for your visit. I'll appreciate your comments. See you soon.

This one is for our good friends and their dogs. I love them so much. Making this pillowcase I tried to print on fabric in the first time.

Summer is running

Hello dear readers!
I like this time here. Everybody prepares for Christmas. It's slightly strange for me because Christmas in European part of the world is  time for snow, cold, ice and other winter stuffs. As for Christmas here  it's time to collect fruit harvest. So all the things which I'm making at the moment reflect both summer and winter moods simultaneously. Today I want to show you a case for sun glass, I used for this case cotton Moda fabric, glass beads, and tatted decorative details.

Yesterday my hubby and I were in the market and bought my lovely sort of mangoes. This sort is usually appears later than other but it's the best one.
Thank you for your visit. See you soon. Enjoy your day.

Case for tattinng needle and hooks and stitched heart

Hello dear readers!
This days were not very sunny and it impacts on my winter mood a lot so I brought back to memory the old file cover with a winter style heart which I made more than year ago. The stitched heart on this cover is very interesting, I trained new ways to stitch. So here it is.

The bags shown earlier are still in process  and I decided to apply my new tatted stuffs for the case  where I can keep my tatting needle and hooks.

So I'm still training to tat. I'm appointed the class  to learn how to tat with shuttle. So tomorrow I'm going to be enlighted :-) And now new stuffs I made with needle.
Thank you for your visit. See you soon.

Attempts for new skills and current processes

Hello!
Unfortunately I still couldn't stop looking around for something new. I found a new skill I want to get, it's tatting. It's so beautiful. I've already found a lot of Internet resources and now I'm trying to study hard ;-). And my first experience shows that tatting with needles is much more easier for me than with shuttle. The photos bellow is my first experience. This clover leaf for my new bag.

This new vivid bag is in process. It will be an unusual bag.

Thank you for your visit see you soon.

The owl bag

Hello!
I've just completed a new bag from Japanese fabric. It was an interesting process because I hadn't worked with any Japanese fabric. My respect for all the quilters who use it. For this bag I used hand quilting it almost looks like sashiko but I quilted with hand quilting threads. The design of this bag is mine. The top  and back side are different like day and night. I drew and stitched a little owl toy as a decorative  element, it helps the bag to appear less serious.  This bag  you  can find  in my Etsy shop.

Thank you for your visit. Enjoy your day. See you soon.

Rose bag

Hello!
As I've announced in the previous post I made a new bag. It's unusual project for me because of  shape and the ways of decoration. I used hand quilting  here and I don't use it very often in my projects, I made fabric roses using the rococo way for ribbons and created the report (tutorial) how I made them. For the front side of the bag where is hexagons' panel I implemented the English paper piecing  way. So here the photos:

The bag has a pocket and key keeper inside.

And promised tutorial for roses
